Worked on a variety of projects developing for both the front and back ends where I developed a reputation as someone who was always ready to work on something new and be able to quickly learn any missing requirements for any task that was sent my way.
Highlights
  • Created scripts to automate the collection of weather data for the Fire Technicians
  • Maintained and expanded on the usage of a fire collection program by adding stations and configuring the program for extra tasks.
  • Provided support to the fire technicians for any issues they had with using the fire collection application.
  • Developed a website using ASP.NET to view and manange the weather data that was stored on an SQL database.

Supported the employees of the all the Canadian National Parks located within the Canadian Rockies.
Highlights
  • Set up wireless access at the kiosks for the Parks Canada campgrounds around Banff
  • Worked with a third-party software supplier to debug and fix an issue with the software that they created for campground bookings

Computer Support Technician
Part of a variety of projects for the Business Technologies unit. These included working to make sure the upgrade process to Windows 7 went successfully by communicating with employees about the upgrade and maintaining up-to-date information about the state of all the computers. Also included designing and implementing an application to convert a generated csv excel file into a differently formatted csv file as specified by the client.
Highlights
  • Tracked the progess of the upgrade of the computers to Windows 7 and did troubleshooting for failed upgrades
  • Wrote a program to take a XML file and created a Excel file of the data that matched a specified format

Duties involved maintaining the plant’s cleanliness in order to get the plant efficient and everyone else working safe. Involved working in a team and being able to follow orders perfectly because the many hazards.
